If your driver's license is European and you want to rent a motorcycle up to 125cc, just present your type B car driver's license for more than three years.

Driving around São Miguel is a safe and easy experience. Most of the roads are in good condition and there are very few highways. You will often find cows blocking the road, so we recommend driving calmly. The drivers are very friendly and drive carefully, respecting traffic regulations. Speed ??limits are 50 km/h in urban areas, 90 km/h on highways and 100 km/h on motorways. The alcohol limit allowed is 0.05% and the use of a helmet is mandatory.

Azoreans park wherever they want, but we recommend that you be careful where you leave your motorcycle.

What tourist attractions in Azores can I visit by motorcycle?

Traveling its roads on a motorcycle will allow you to get to know the entire island and visit its best-known tourist attractions. On the west coast of the island you will find the Miradouro da Ponta do Escalvado, where you will enjoy wonderful views of the coast. In Ponta da Ferraria you should visit the lighthouse, the Pico das Camarinhas and its natural pools of thermal water. The Sete Cidades caldera, located inside a volcanic crater, is formed by the lagoons: Lagoa Rasa, Lagoa do Santiago, Lagoa Azul and Lagoa Verde, which you cannot miss.

In Ponta Delgada, the capital, you will find charming corners such as Plaça Gonçalo Velho Cabral, the Sao Bras fort, the Igreja de Sao Sebastiao and the Alianza da nossa Senhora de Esperança.
