Here are some tips on how to rent your motorcycle or scooter in Marrakech:

If your driver's license is European and you want to rent a motorcycle up to 125cc, just present your type B car driver's license for more than three years.

If you are not a European citizen you have to carry an equivalent license in your country of origin, in this case an international card is recommended.

All motorcycles have third party insurance and most include cases and rear trunk included or with additional payment.

What is it like to drive a motorcycle in Marrakech?

Driving around Marrakech is sheer chaos. There are many cars, the inhabitants do not usually respect the signs and they whistle for anything. You must be careful with roundabouts and always keep a safe distance, because the stops are made without prior notice. At first it will be difficult to drive, but it's all about adapting.

As for the roads, most are in good condition and are two-way, with one lane in each direction. Within urban areas the maximum speed allowed is 60 km/h and outside of them 80 km/h. It is very common to find police checkpoints, although most of the time they stop you to exchange a few words. By law, the driver must wear a helmet, but the passenger does not. However, we recommend that everyone wear a helmet.

What are the advantages of driving a motorcycle in Marrakech?

Driving around Marrakech will undoubtedly be an incredible and unique experience. You will enjoy total freedom and you will be able to explore all its streets and alleys, without fear of getting lost. Parking the motorcycle will not be a problem, since you can park it very close, if not in front, of the places you want to visit.

If you arrive by train and prefer to pick up your motorcycle at your own hotel, we deliver and pick up where you prefer.

What tourist attractions in Marrakech can I visit by motorcycle?

In Marrakech you can tour its streets on a motorcycle and visit its tourist attractions such as the famous Jamaa el Fna Square, the nerve center of the city, where you will find all kinds of exotic animals and food stalls. From the terrace of the Café Glacier, you will be able to observe the movement of the square, while savoring the famous mint tea. One of the best things you can do is visit the Medersa Ben Youssef, the largest Muslim school in the country.

In the Medina you will find the Saadian Tombs, on the right side of the Moulay El Yazid mosque and near the great Bab Agnaou gate. One of the places you cannot miss is the famous Zoco: a labyrinth of narrow streets full of shops where you can get lost, haggle or even get angry with a vendor. The old Jewish quarter and the Majorelle Gardens are two unique places that you cannot miss. The entire Medina is surrounded by an impressive wall, in which you will find various gates such as Bab Doukkala, Bab el Robb and Bab el Jadid. Finally, the Koutoubia Mosque and the Bahia Palace are essential places to visit.

If you want to get lost on a motorcycle and get away from the city, we recommend you visit the Ouzoud Waterfalls and the Ourika Valley.

You won't be able to say goodbye to the city without trying some of its typical dishes such as Moroccan Salad, Zaahlouk or Couscous. Nor its impressive sweets and desserts like the Coconut and Semolina Cookies.
